Galapagos Style (hereinafter referred to as "we," "us," or "our") recognizes the importance of protecting personal information obtained and held in the operation of our project, "Galapagos Style -Labo-." To fulfill this responsibility, we have established the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy").
Article 1 (Definition of Personal Information) In this Policy, "Personal Information" refers to personal information as defined in Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan. This includes information regarding a living individual that can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, or other descriptions contained in such information.
Article 2 (Acquisition and Purpose of Use) We acquire personal information through lawful and fair means and specify the purpose of its use. The purposes for which we collect and use personal information are as follows:
(1) To provide project activities, products, and services, and for payment processing;
(2) To provide information regarding products, services, and research activities;
(3) To contact and provide information regarding seminars, events, etc.;
(4) To respond to inquiries from customers (including identity verification);
(5) For purposes incidental to the above purposes of use.
Article 3 (Security Measures) We take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of personal information and to manage personal information security. In particular, when handling customers' credit card information, we outsource payment processing to payment service providers (such as Stripe, PayPal, etc.) and do not retain any credit card information ourselves.
Article 4 (Provision to Third Parties and Cross-Border Transfer)
Provision to Third Parties: We will not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the customer's prior consent, except in the following cases:
(1) When required by law;
(2) When necessary for the protection of the life, body, or property of an individual and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the identifiable person;
(3) When outsourcing all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use
(e.g., providing names and addresses to delivery companies for product delivery, or providing information to payment service providers for payment processing).
Cross-Border Transfer to Third Parties: For the purpose of joint research and development of this project, we may provide customers' personal information (name, email address, affiliation, etc.) to business partners and project members located in foreign countries, including the Republic of India, within the necessary scope. In such cases, we will obligate the recipient to protect personal information in accordance with the personal information protection laws of Japan and will exercise appropriate supervision.
Article 5 (Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, etc.)
Disclosure: When a customer requests the disclosure of their personal information, we will disclose it without delay after confirming the identity of the requester.
Correction, Addition, or Deletion: If the content of personal information held by us is contrary to fact, we will correct, add, or delete the content without delay based on the customer's request, after confirming the identity of the requester.
Suspension of Use or Deletion: If a customer requests the suspension of use or deletion of their personal information, and if it is found that there is a valid reason for the request, we will suspend the use or delete the information without delay after confirming the identity of the requester.
